The machine below is running BASIC-DOS,
an open-source version of DOS designed by the creator of
PCjs for the 40th anniversary of the IBM PC.
The BASIC-DOS diskette contains MSBASIC.EXE, a BASIC interpreter built
from the Microsoft BASIC
repository, along with a number of original BASIC samples included as part
of the Microsoft MS-DOS repository.
Click on the black screen below, type DIR to get a directory listing,
and then try running a BASIC sample from the DOS prompt (eg, MSBASIC DONKEY).
When the program ends and you see the Ok BASIC prompt, use the LOAD command
to load another sample file (eg, LOAD "ART" and RUN) or type SYSTEM to
return to the DOS prompt.
